Estimating Analyst/Associate:
Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to support both merchant and contracted structures. Jupiter currently has approximately 2200 megawatt-hours in construction or operation and is developing approximately 14 GW of projects over 2025-2030.
Jupiter seeks to hire a highly motivated and experienced professional as Estimating Analyst/Associate in the EPC Department. The Estimating Analyst/Associate will research, aggregate data, and conduct market analysis to strengthen Jupiters construction estimates. The ideal candidate will come from construction, EPC, or developers that are heavily involved in project construction. The ideal candidate will understand the mechanics of construction bidding and contracting, and will organize and maintain a database of bids, estimates, and project pricing to inform future construction costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Constantly engage EPCs, subcontractors, and trade professionals to understand construction costs.
- Monitor prevailing wage and apprenticeship prices across several jurisdictions.
- Aggregate and organize company proprietary construction costing information. Leverage this information to inform future work.
- Aggregate and organize equipment costs from company information and supplier/vendor quotes. Leverage this information to inform future development ventures.
- Review and revise ongoing contractor change order claims. Ensure that contractors are charging market pricing for change order work.
- Review contractor T&M pricing. Ensure that this pricing reflects current market conditions.
- Support EPC team in generating requests for proposals (RFPs). Review RFPs and determine where the proposals need further clarification from the contractor.
- Support development, origination, and finance team in developing accurate construction and equipment estimates.
- The Estimating Analyst/Associate will constantly update project cost information database.
- The Estimating Analyst/Associate will perform quarterly reviews of the companys project contingency policies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Project estimate vs. Contracted cost: The quality of the Estimating Analyst/Associates work will be measured by the actual contracted cost.
- Change order control: The Estimating Analyst/Associate will review and support in the change order negotiation process. KPI: keeping the project under budget.
- Contingency as a project percentage: The Estimating Analyst/Associates work will enable Jupiter to decrease its contingency allocation as a percentage of the project budget.
Jupiter seeks individuals eager to develop their core professional knowledge, learn new areas of the business and take on additional responsibilities within Jupiters dynamic team. Secondary responsibilities will be tailored to individual candidate backgrounds as well as company priorities.
Requirements:
- 2+ years in the construction industry, preferably working with the construction of renewable or energy facilities
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction field
- Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work in a dynamic environment alongside people with varied interests and backgrounds
Qualifications:
- Renewable energy experience
- Direct supervision of construction budgets or change order processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Compensation & Benefits:
- $90,000 - $110,000
- Thispayrange reflects the minimum andmaximumtarget salary for the position.Jupiter Power considers a number of factors when determining starting compensation such as the position requirements and the candidate's qualifications.

This role will be based out of our Chicago, Illinois office and will be subject to our return-to-office policy which currently requires employees come in 3+ days per week.
