Estimator

NexGen Consultancy LTD are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Welwyn Garden City. Operating across the aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and defence sectors, they’re now looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.



This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on CNC machining experience and a strong background in estimating or quoting precision engineering jobs.



The Role:

As an Estimator, you will:

Prepare accurate and timely quotes and cost estimates for CNC machined components



*



Review engineering drawings and specifications to assess materials, time, and machining processes required



*



Liaise with the production team to confirm machine times, capabilities, and lead times



*



Work with suppliers to obtain material and subcontractor costs



*



Prepare detailed quotations for clients across multiple sectors



*



Track and manage the status of quotes and provide updates to the sales or management team



*



Support in process improvements to enhance quoting accuracy and turnaround



The Ideal Candidate:



*



CNC machining background – hands-on experience required (setting, operating, or programming)



*



Experience in estimating or quoting for precision-engineered components



*



Strong understanding of materials, machining processes, and cycle times



*



Confident interpreting technical drawings and CAD files



*



Strong communication skills – able to work with both engineers and customers



*



Commercially aware with attention to detail and accuracy
