Estimator – Fit out / refurbishment contractor, Milton Keynes. (Assistant or intermediate level)\nA successful and fast growing growing construction company in Milton Keynes is looking for an Estimator with commercial fit-out/refurbishment experience to join their team.\nYou'll play a vital role in winning work through accurate and competitive tenders, while ensuring risks are identified and margins are protected. (If you are assistant level, you will be assisting with schemes)\nThis is your chance to play a key role in a business that values initiative, professionalism, and commercial acumen.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out and refurbishment projects\n * Analyse drawings, specifications, and project information to produce accurate cost plans\n * Identify and assess project risks and value engineering opportunities\n * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and pricing\n * Participate in client meetings, pre-construction planning, and value engineering exercises\n * Maintain a database of rates, costs, and supplier contacts\n * Work closely with the Director and wider team to develop commercially competitive bids\n * Support handover to the delivery team post-tender\n * Ensure compliance with industry standards, procurement policies, and contractual obligations\nWhat We're Looking For\n * Proven track record as an Estimator within commercial fit-out or refurbishment (assistant or intermediate level)\n * Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills\n * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing\n * Experience working with budgets up to £1M+\n * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or Excel-based systems)\n * High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously\nKeywords: Estimator, Construction, Project Manager, Refurbishment, Contractor
