Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile and hands-on Equipment & Process Supervisor to lead both the Grind, Blast, and Paint departments and the Inspection team. This role ensures that industrial finishing operations and critical equipment inspections are executed with precision, efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The Supervisor will work cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and service teams to deliver high-performance results in both manufacturing and pre-deployment inspection.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Production Manager and works collaboratively with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Service Department, and Warehouse teams to ensure optimal coordination across production and inspection activities.
Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
The Inspector will perform the following functions. Additional duties may be assigned as required:
- Supervise daily activities within Grinding, Blasting, Painting, and Equipment Inspection functions
- Ensure that all processes are performed according to safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Coordinate production schedules to meet delivery timelines and customer requirements
- Monitor equipment readiness and oversee commissioning procedures for stringing tools (pullers, tensioners, winches)
- Validate equipment performance including operational integrity, load capacity, braking systems, and mechanical alignment
- Oversee aesthetic inspections and customer-readiness checklists for final sign-off
- Collaborate with QA to identify defects and initiate corrective actions with documented outcomes
- Review testing and commissioning reports for completeness and accuracy
- Lead, train, and support painters, inspectors, and material handlers
- Assign tasks effectively across departments to maximize labor efficiency
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate skill development
- Enforce housekeeping and PPE compliance across all supervised areas
- Identify and address safety hazards immediately
- Ensure all team members adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or production management.
Skills & Experience
- At least 2-5 years in a supervisory or lead role
- 5+ years of manufacturing and supervisory experience minimum
- Experience with production planning and scheduling
- Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques required
- High level of analytical skills which include: Reviewing, collecting, and interpreting information from diverse sources and understanding blueprints, technical drawings and specifications
- Analyzing information to resolve complex problems associated with managing a manufacturing facility
