Tech II, Equipment Maintenance – Sumter, SC
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift – Monday to Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Position Overview
The Equipment Maintenance Technician II is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment to ensure optimal performance. This role focuses on meeting production targets, maintaining product quality, and minimizing downtime in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and optimize production equipment within quality and output standards
- Perform equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed
- Maintain equipment to ensure efficient and continuous operation
- Record maintenance activities, downtime, and issues in equipment logs (clear handwriting required)
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) per plant schedules
- Assist Engineering and Maintenance teams with major repairs
- Start up equipment and monitor control panels for proper operation
- Monitor component inventory and notify material handlers when supplies are low
- Clean and maintain part tracks to ensure smooth operation
- Maintain accurate production and downtime records
- Ensure all safety guards and procedures are followed
- Perform in-process quality checks and document results
- Maintain a clean and organized production environment
Qualifications
- Experience in equipment maintenance or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of basic pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and electronic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures
- Good communication skills
