Job Title: Equipment Assembly & Service Technician
Location: Ann Arbor area (onsite) — company vehicle use may be required

Position Summary Wolverine Rental is seeking a dependable Equipment Assembly & Service Technician to join our shop team. This person will assist with assembly and preparation of new tractors and construction equipment, perform inspections and basic maintenance on incoming and fleet equipment, and help keep the shop organized and safe. The ideal candidate is comfortable around heavy machinery, has a basic mechanical aptitude, and is eager to learn and grow their skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install attachments and components on tractors, excavators, skid loaders, and other equipment
- Inspect incoming equipment from manufacturers: document condition, take photos, report damage, and check fluids
- Prepare and service new equipment for customer or fleet use (perform manufacturer checklists, install decals, radios, telematics systems, etc.)
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on fleet and rental equipment
- Assist senior technicians as needed with diagnostics and repairs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; follow shop safety procedures
- Operate forklift and other shop equipment safely
- Complete electronic inspection reports and paperwork accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license; must meet company general liability driving requirements to operate company vehicles when necessary
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn diagnostic and repair procedures
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment and outdoor conditions (seasonal weather exposure)
- Ability to lift regularly (10–75 lbs), climb ladders/stairs, and perform physical tasks
- Experience with basic hand tools; specialized tooling provided onsite
- Ability to use tablets/phones or other electronic devices for inspections and paperwork
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Forklift operation experience but not required (training available)
