SCS is looking for a full-time environmental technician for our Omaha, Nebraska office. Environmental technicians work with scientists and engineers on a variety of municipal solid waste landfill, groundwater well monitoring, and chemical/petroleum spill projects.

Landfill gas monitoring

Landfill cap and liner construction quality assurance (CQA)

Vapor monitoring

Field note preparation

Emergency Spill Response

Qualifications

Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction related field

1+ years of related experience but not required

Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required

Solid technical, mechanical, and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required

Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required

Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required

Willingness to assist with emergency spill response during regular, evening, and weekend hours required

Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the Omaha metro, extended out of town fieldwork is required

Pay Range

USD $23.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
