Job Description

Job Purpose:


Escape Recruitment are seeking an Environmental Technician to manage and maintain compliance with Environmental Permits and regulatory requirements at a renewable energy site.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure environmental compliance and reporting, including waste returns, monitoring reports, and pollution inventories.
  • Operate and maintain the Environmental Management System and site management plans (waste, odour, noise, fire prevention, pest control, energy efficiency, and waste recovery).
  • Supervise on-site and off-site sampling, including air, water, and process streams, and manage laboratory reporting.
  • Maintain and oversee weighbridge operations, generating Duty of Care and hazardous waste documentation.
  • Participate in environmental inspections, audits, COSHH assessments, and health & safety activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with environmental legislation and industry best practices.


Qualifications & Experience:


  • Experience in Environmental Permit compliance in waste, environmental, or power sectors.
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent, or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental law, ISO 14001, WM3, air emissions testing, and waste operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; good communication skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
