Environmental Project Manager

Matrix is seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our growing Industrial Hygiene Group to develop, complete and manage external industrial hygiene/hazardous building material services in the New York/New Jersey area. Pay range starting at $75000.
What You'll Do:
Managing, performing, and coordinating project specific hazardous building material inspections for suspect asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, universal/regulated bulk waste, microbial/biological contaminations, collecting bulk samples and creating reports according to applicable State and Federal protocols
Investigating indoor air quality and related water intrusion events
Conducting job site health & safety inspections
Managing air monitoring for asbestos abatement, lead and mold remediation activities
Interacting with clients, contractors & sub-contractors, coordinating site meetings, developing scopes of work and implementing project schedules, as assigned
Developing and managing new client opportunities including proposal submissions of anticipated approach and related fees
Minimum Requirements
5 years of relevant industrial hygiene experience
Bachelor's Degree in earth sciences, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and/or equivalent
Experience managing/leading industrial hygiene/hazardous building material surveys and audits; indoor air quality (IAQ) and sick building assessments, environmental, health and safety (EH&S)/occupational safety training; and medical monitoring program oversight
Experience developing, managing, and reporting on personal and perimeter/community air monitoring programs.
Experience with mold, asbestos, and lead inspection and management; applicable licenses required
Experience in the understanding and development of applicable environmental remediation design documents (plans and specifications)
Experience interacting with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, local and state health & environmental departments)
Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to DOT-regulated random drug & alcohol testing
Requirements
Strong managerial, business development, and written and verbal communication skills.
Experience related to railroad and/or New York City metro area construction (e.g., cranes, scaffolds, sidewalk protection, trenches/excavations, etc.)
