TheEnvironmental Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical role in driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring the company operates in an environmentally safe and responsible manner.

This position can be located in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC; Roanoke, VA; Richmond, VA; or Martinsville, VA.

Your responsibilities as the Environmental Manager:

• Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards (EPA, OSHA, etc.).
• Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments.
• Oversee waste management, pollution control, and emissions monitoring programs.
• Manage environmental reporting and documentation, Tier 2 reporting
• Lead environmental incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and represent the company in environmental matters.
• Train staff in environmental best practices and compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and sustainability goals.

What we need from you (our requirements):

• Bachelors degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or at least 10 years of verified experience.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or related fields.
• Experience with environmental management systems
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with up to 50% regional travel for site visits, regulatory meetings, conferences, or training sessions and other business-related activities.
• Occasional exposure to environmental hazards during site assessments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday. Travel may be required based on operational needs.
