Environmental Health & Safety Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary functions are to: (1) Provide technical EHS support to all service personnel, (2) develop EHS programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs, (3) monitor EHS regulations and provide technical support to all service personnel to ensure compliance with Federal and State EHS regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Travel to each service center in the US along with some travel with field service team.

Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.

Provide technical safety and health support and information to service and office personnel.

Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs.

Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analyses, Operator Training, etc.

Support service personnel in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.

Maintain safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).

Promote safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, and specific training programs.

Review process operating procedures/batch records and provide input for safety and health considerations.

Responsible for the administration of all OSHA and Safety paperwork for the service center sites.

Understand Federal and State (Tennessee) occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes (through Federal Register, etc.) as they occur.

Provide technical support to service personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.

Periodically audit practices and records of service department to ensure compliance with company programs and Federal/State occupational safety and health regulations.

Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and Worker's Compensation Claims.

Ensure accident investigations take place timely and be an integral part of the solution in the corrective action process.

Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary.

Ensure SDS records are adequately displayed at service sites and that they are current.

Provide data/presentations for monthly reports including MOR (monthly operations report) and KPI.

All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Ability to effectively deal with other people, especially other company personnel, to enlist needed cooperation in implementing regulatory requirements.

Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies, consultants and other contractor personnel is also required.

Knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations.

Working knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, NEPA, ANSI with a strong knowledge of OSHA regulation.

Exhibit good computer skills: Proficiency in MS products.

Accurate attention to detail.

Ability to organize and prioritize.

Experience with 5S/6S.

Must be able to travel 50% of time between service centers and with the field team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

Bachelors Degree in Safety .

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Health & Safety and Environmental or related field .

CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification .
