Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist (1–3 Years Experience)

About PTP Consulting

PTP Consulting is a highly respected Environmental, Health & Safety firm with over 30 years of experience supporting industrial, commercial, and construction clients. We provide OSHA compliance support, environmental permitting, safety program development, HAZWOPER and RCRA training, and onsite safety management across the region.

We are growing—and looking to bring on a motivated junior EHS professional to support fieldwork, documentation, and client operations while senior consultants handle high-level strategy and oversight.

Position Overview

The EHS Specialist will support clients through onsite safety audits, environmental reporting, permitting assistance, and field compliance support. This role is ideal for someone early in their EHS career who wants hands-on experience, diverse project exposure, and direct mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance Support

- Conduct OSHA compliance site audits, safety walkthroughs, and hazard assessments

- Perform JHAs, site inspections, and corrective action follow-up

- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis

- Support construction site safety monitoring as needed

Environmental Compliance

- Assist with environmental permitting and reporting (NJDEP, PADEP, EPA)

- Support emissions calculations, waste documentation, stormwater inspections, and regulatory filings

- Conduct environmental audits and sampling coordination

Client Interaction & Reporting

- Attend client meetings and maintain professional communication

- Prepare clear, accurate audit reports and environmental documentation

- Track corrective actions and help maintain compliance schedules

Internal Team Support

- Assist senior consultants with data collection, fieldwork, and project execution

- Support training prep for RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER

- Help refine internal processes, templates, and documentation

Qualifications Required:

- 1–3 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles

- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic environmental compliance

- Strong written communication skills for audits, reports, and findings

- Comfortable working independently at client sites

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

:

- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field

- Experience with air permitting, hazardous waste (RCRA), DOT/IATA, or stormwater programs

- OSHA 30 (GI or Construction)

- HAZWOPER 40 (or willingness to obtain—PTP will sponsor)
