EHS Manager – Construction & Installation

Position Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading all Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives across construction and installation projects. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement to minimize risk and enhance operational performance. The EHS Manager works closely with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and executive leadership to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient job sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs, policies, and procedures for construction and installation operations.
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
  • Provide training, coaching, and hands-on support to project teams on safe work practices, hazard identification, equipment operation, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain all required documentation, reporting, permits, and records related to safety and environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with project leadership and subcontractors to plan safe work activities and develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs).
  • Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE, fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and other safety controls.
  • Track safety metrics, prepare performance reports, and present findings to management.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through site engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support environmental programs including waste management, stormwater compliance, air quality controls, and spill prevention.
  • Ensure new employee onboarding includes required EHS training and certification updates.
  • Lead emergency response planning and drills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field ().
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in construction, installation, industrial, or field-based operations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and environmental regulations.
  • Experience developing and managing safety plans, training programs, and compliance documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as CHST, CSP, OSHA 30, or similar ().
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
