We're seeking a proactive and dedicated EHS Manager to lead our health and safety initiatives across our Chicago and Morristown locations. This role is critical to fostering a safe, compliant, and health-conscious workplace. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to define and drive EHS goals and strategic objectives.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions on health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to address hygiene, health, and safety risks.
  • Introduce and maintain protocols that align with evolving regulatory standards.
  • Monitor daily operations and employee activities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including assessments, incident reports, and safety manuals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Submit compliance documentation and reports to relevant agencies in a timely manner.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and innovations in EHS practices.
  • Lead the company's safety committee, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Travel regularly between Chicago and Morristown to support both locations.
  • Actively contribute to team success and company-wide goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent EHS credentials.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS Coordinator role.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship is not available).

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership and employee training capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility, including machinery.

Work Environment

This role involves a combination of office and plant-based work. While some tasks will be performed at a desk, the majority of time will be spent on the production floor, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical activity. Personal protective equipment-including steel-toe shoes, earplugs, and safety glasses-is required at all times while on the production floor. Physical activities include walking, bending, manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and lifting/moving up to 20 pounds.
