Primary responsibility of the Environmental/Energy Manger is to ensure contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting this contract. The Environmental/Energy Manager shall develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy.

*This position is Part Time averaging 24-32 hours per week

Salary

$55,000 - $65,000 based on experience, qualifications, and clearance

Key Responsibilities

Ensure departments achieve and maintain environmental compliance, prevent pollution and participates in environmental program

Serve as the units/department point of contact for matters involving environmental and energy compliance

Actively promote the reduction of volume and toxicity of HM produced within the ECO’s organization

Identify when new or revised permits are needed and managing the Certifications and Permits program as required by the contract

Oversee and participate in the implementation of command Hazardous Material (HM) collection, handling, and disposal and ensures all HM operations are carried out in compliance with the requirements of establishes environmental legislation

Perform and document follow up actions required to ensure correction of container management deficiencies and timely removal of hazardous material

Conduct weekly and monthly inspections of environmental related sites and records

Develop and maintain environmental SOP

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including inspections, audits, and maintaining permits

Ensure any discrepancies identified or included in a formal letter of warning, a notice of violation or inspection report are corrected

Oversee compliance with environmental energy awareness training and communication

Essential Skills

Effective oral and written communication skills

Effective technical, interpersonal, organizational and telephone etiquette skills

Adaptable and flexible in work situations

Establish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner

PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY

Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

2+ years of recent experience as an Environmental/Energy Manager on a large Base Operations Services Support (BOSS) contract

Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations

Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems

MUST

have Top Secret Clearance

OSHA 30 hour certification

Valid driver's license

Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Qualifications

TS/SCI

Physical Requirements

Carrying objects/boxes/print-outs short distances

Extensive work with a personal computer

Lifting and moving as much as 50 pounds with assistance

Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking

Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping

May climb ladders and enter confined spaces

Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
