Environmental/Energy Manager - Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling

Primary responsibility:

The Environmental/Energy Manager ensures contractor operations adhere to the Environmental Management System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other sustainability requirements. They develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs to promote sustainable development, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and energy policies.

Position details:

Part-time, averaging 24-32 hours per week.

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000, based on experience, qualifications, and clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure departmental environmental compliance, pollution prevention, and participation in environmental programs.

Serve as the point of contact for environmental and energy compliance matters.

Promote reduction of hazardous material volume and toxicity.

Identify permit needs and manage certifications and permits.

Oversee hazardous material handling, collection, and disposal in compliance with legislation.

Follow up on container management deficiencies and hazardous material removal.

Conduct regular inspections of environmental sites and records.

Develop and maintain environmental SOPs.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including inspections and permits.

Correct discrepancies identified in inspections or violation notices.

Oversee environmental and energy awareness training and communication.

Essential Skills

Workplace safety practices, including proper PPE use.

Requirements

At least 2 years of recent experience as an Environmental/Energy Manager on a large BOSS contract.

Strong knowledge of environmental regulations.

Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems.

OSHA 30-hour certification.

Valid driver's license.

Pre-employment drug screening and background check.

U.S. citizenship.

Subject to government approval.

Qualifications

Top Secret Clearance.

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Prolonged computer use.

Various physical activities, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
