Due to the ongoing success of this initiative, we are currently looking for highly skilled and motivated Environmental Consultant to join our dedicated team in shaping a sustainable and resilient energy future.Position Overview: As a dynamic and skilled Impact Assessment and Permitting practitioner in our Environmental Solutions team, you will leverage your power generation or transmission and distribution experience to provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to project development applications, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, optimising sustainability practices and enhancing project outcomes. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in delivering solutions that will redefine the energy landscape and revolutionise how we harness, distribute, and manage energy.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized environmental consulting services to clients within the power sector, including power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. Assist clients in obtaining necessary planning approvals for power system infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. Manage and facilitate the permitting process for industrial facilities, ensuring adherence to environmental standards and guidelines. Stay up-to-date with the latest EPR requirements and guide clients in navigating these regulations for their projects. Lead or contribute to EIAs, evaluating the potential environmental impacts of power projects and proposing mitigation measures. Conduct detailed assessments of carbon footprints associated with power systems and recommend strategies for emissions reduction. Identify and address environmental constraints that may impact power system projects, such as protected habitats or heritage sites. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored environmental solutions. Ensure that clients remain compliant with all environmental regulations and reporting requirements throughout project lifecycles. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver integrated solutions that balance environmental and operational goals. Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in the power systems and environmental consulting fields, and share insights within the organization. Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Proven experience (5+ years) in environmental consulting with a focus on power systems. In-depth knowledge of UK environmental regulations, permitting processes, and relevant legislation. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex environmental concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Professional memberships and certifications relevant to environmental consulting (e.g., CEnv, IEMA) are desirable.
