STATUS: Full time, exempt
LOCATION: Bellingham, WA (onsite)
SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$130,000/year based on experience and interview outcome

JOB SUMMARY:
The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring full environmental Compliance across Tidal Vision’s facilities in Bellingham, WA and other sites. This includes:
- Environmental Policy, Programs, and Procedures Development, Implement, Support, and Train
- Government, Client, and Other Reporting
- Management of the Safety Data Sheets Program
- External and Internal Audits and Inspections
- Permit Development
- Waste Management and Emergency Response/Incident Investigations
- Pesticide Management
- Assists Other Departments with Environmental Compliance Elements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Developing, implementing, supporting, and training company personnel in environmental policy, programs and procedures to support our facilities and communities at work.
- Prepare, assist, submit, and maintain governmental, client and other reporting for all facilities including Clean Air/Water reporting, Tier I/II reports, TRI (Form R or Form A reports), Hazardous Waste reports, FIFRA, TSCA, industrial wastewater and stormwater reporting, ESG reporting (Scope 1, 2,&3), state/local reporting, DEA/ATF reports, refrigerant management tracking, liquor and cannabis license, vendor/client environmental requests, etc.)Manage the CHEMTREC Account and oversee chemical emergency response protocols.
- Preparation of Safety Data Sheet (SDS), oversee SDS database, and assist facilities with their SDS.
- Perform audits and inspections of facilities including but not limited to ISO, NSF60, Safer Choice, Halal, governmental, facility audits, and follow ups on corrective actions.
- Being Tidal Vision representative in emergency response and incident investigations including being a liaison agent during governmental visits and assists with obtaining resources in these situations.
- Determine, prepare and maintain permits for facility and process applications.
- Assist supervision and personnel with waste management activities.
- Oversee that pesticide management at facilities meet compliance requirements.
- Provided cross-functional environmental compliance support to internal departments and teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience in environmental compliance and regulatory reporting).
- 5+ years of experience with EPA and environmental compliance with strong knowledge of international, federal, and state environmental and transportation laws and regulations (e.g. hazardous waste, government reporting, or permitting).
- 3+ years experience authorizing and managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in compliance with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and international requirements.
- Ability to work in a detailed and some high-paced environment without direct supervision.
- Ability to perform hazard and environmental compliance recognition and reporting.
Licensing & Special Requirements
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license required for any work-related transportation.
- Regular travel between several facilities is required (up to 25%).
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is performed primarily within Tidal Vision’s warehouses, offices, and production facilities.
- Travel will be up to 25%. Sites currently include Everett, WA, Traer, IA, SC, Michigan, Ohio, Arizona, but additional sites may be added.
- Must adhere to all company safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas and while on-site.
- Must be able to work in conditions where temperatures may fluctuate.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 33 pounds required; must be able to pull, push, twist, balance, and move with general ease.
