We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Charlotte or Raleigh North Carolina. This is a full-time opportunity designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is excited to launch their engineering career in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Pay: $65,000 - $85,000/year based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

ENTRY LEVEL TRAFFIC ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Technical engineering responsibilities may include:
- Traffic impact studies
- Traffic operations analyses
- Safety studies
- Signal system design
- Signal timing plans
- Maintenance of traffic
- Pavement markings and signage
- Highway lighting design
- Corridor studies
- Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering designs and plans for transportation projects.
- Stay up to date on transportation engineering guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in project designs.
- Ability to work in a team setting collaboratively with group of other traffic and transportation/civil engineers.
- Ability to identify project issues and facilitate resolution.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
- Occasionally visit work sites, monitoring project progress and reporting findings.
- Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
ENTRY LEVEL TRAFFIC ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil Engineering.
- : EIT Certification
Qualifications:
- Required: 1-3 years’ experience.
- Required: Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, TransModeler, VISSIM,
AutoCAD/MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads Designer and Microsoft Office.
- Required: Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and Congestion Management Guidelines.
- : Experience with Travel Demand Modeling Software (TransCAD, CUBE), ArcGIS, SignCAD.
