The Role


Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking motivated, creative, and thoughtful scientists or engineers to join our Princeton, NJ office as a Staff Consultant. As a Staff Consultant, you’ll work on diverse projects that combine technical analysis, field applications and real-world problem solving.


Key Responsibilities


· Evaluate human and ecological risks using innovative quantitative methods

· Model contaminant migration and quantify human and ecological exposure to hazards in the environment

· Manage and analyze large datasets, applying statistical and spatial analysis tools

· Support field investigations and remediation planning by developing sampling and risk management plans

· Collaborate with senior consultants in preparing key communications including technical reports, regulatory submittals, and important client communications

· Contribute to regulatory negotiations and technical reviews, supporting clients in making key decisions

Who You Are


· Degree in environmental or chemical engineering, environmental health, environmental science, biology, chemistry, toxicology, or related field

· 0 to 2 years of experience in applied human health and/or ecological risk assessment (internships and coursework count)

· Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in spreadsheet and database software

· Familiarity with GIS or spatial analysis software is a plus

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams

· A curious, adaptable, and creative mindset, with a passion for problem-solving and learning

Salary

Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location with a range of $67,000-$75,000.
