Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of manufacturing components and systems using Rhino 3D modeling software
- Generate toolpaths and CNC-ready files using VCarve for machining operations
- Utilize OmniWin for nesting and cutting optimization in plasma or laser cutting applications
- Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing workflows and reduce waste
- Support prototyping, testing, and documentation of mechanical designs
- Maintain accurate records of design iterations, production data, and quality metrics
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the engineering process
Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field experience
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, specifically Rhino, VCarve, and OmniWin
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, laser/plasma cutting, and fabrication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment
Skills (Bonus)
- or co-op experience in a manufacturing setting
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Basic knowledge of G-code and CNC machine operation
- Experience with other design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
