Industrial Access is a multi-craft services contractor that specializes in helping clients maintain their hard-to-reach chimney, stacks, ductwork, vessels, cooling towers and other structures at height, utilizing rope access and other high-elevation work techniques.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future. ONLY candidates currently living in the Cumming, GA area will be considered.
About the Role:
Industrial Access is looking for a motivated entry-level civil/structural engineer to join our growing team. In this developmental role, you’ll play a key part in evaluating some of the most unique and challenging structures in the industrial world — including smokestacks, chimneys, and tall access systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers to analyze real-world data from the field, perform structural evaluations, and help develop engineering reports and repair strategies. This role offers hands-on exposure to structural engineering in a specialized, high-impact environment. The position requires working on site in our office located in Cumming, GA Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and analyze photographic data from field inspections of industrial structures.
- Assist with structural analysis and design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, risks, and repair recommendations.
- Support the preparation and revision of technical drawings and markups for structural modifications.
- Apply engineering standards (e.g., IBC, AISC, ASCE) to evaluate safety and code compliance.
- Organize and maintain large sets of documentation, photos, and report files.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accuracy and clarity of deliverables.
Required skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or within 2 years of graduation).
- Foundational knowledge of structural engineering concepts.
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to focus on complex data sets and photographic reviews.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
(Not Required):
- Interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Familiarity with structural analysis or drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, etc.).
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IBC, AISC, ASCE).
- , academic, or co-op experience in structural engineering or industrial settings.
This is a full time salaried position with a target starting salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 per year.
