Job Title: Engineering Technician

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Location: Morrisville, NC 27560

Shift: 1st Shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Overtime as Required)

Description:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of lab equipment and test systems.
  • Support product validation and verification testing.
  • Design, schedule, and perform laboratory and field tests.
  • Install instrumentation and develop data acquisition programs.
  • Analyze test data and prepare technical reports.
  • Build, modify, and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, and test benches.
  • Perform calibration and verification of thermal chambers and test equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on lab equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain maintenance, calibration, and work order documentation.
  • Support safety programs and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Assist engineering teams with product improvements and testing activities.
  • Provide work direction to test operators and support cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Maintenance, or related field ).
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance, facilities, or technical support experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and maintenance tracking.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and support overtime or on-call activities when required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory or product test equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with electrification systems, motors, inverters, or batteries.
  • Experience with calibration equipment such as thermal chambers and power analyzers.
  • Background in mechatronics, automation, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems.
  • Experience with Product Verification & Validation (PV&V), EPDP, ETDP, or ECAP processes.
  • 1–3 years of engineering, product testing, or product design experience.
