Job Description: Engineering Technician\n\nLocation: Bedford\n\nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nHours: Monday to Friday 08.30-4.30 (shift flexibility may be required)\n\nAre you a detail-focused and hands-on individual with an interest in engineering and product reliability? Join a dynamic product development environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and quality of electronic products through structured testing and analysis.\n\nAs a Reliability Test Technician, you will support the product development team by carrying out electrical, thermal, and mechanical reliability testing on new and existing products. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate testing, data integrity, and high-quality documentation.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPerform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure correct and safe test operation.\nPrepare samples for testing, including marking, board mounting, and preconditioning.\nCarry out reliability testing by unloading, testing, and reloading samples within required time limits.\nConduct visual inspections of test samples using microscopes to identify defects.\nDesign, build, and maintain test boards and fixtures required for testing activities.\nEdit and maintain test programs for STi ATE test systems.\nRecord, update, and maintain test data in Excel and ensure proper file storage.\nManage wafer/sample storage by logging incoming materials and tracking items removed.\nSupport documentation and reporting of test results where required.\n\nQualifications and Skills\n\n5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including Maths and English (Science ).\nPrevious cleanroom experience is desirable.\nBasic understanding of Health and Safety procedures and PPE requirements.\nExperience with soldering and building test fixtures is advantageous.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nGood manual dexterity and attention to detail.\nStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive and reliable approach.\nAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.\n\nWork Location: In person\n\nPlease note that at times due to the volume of applications we may not be able to respond to each person individually.
