SUMMARY: The Engineering Technician role is a support function role within the Engineering Department, responsible for assisting in product fitment, testing, product improvement, and support. This position requires a solid understanding of mechanics, electrical systems, tools, material fabrication, and the ability to troubleshoot and correct product issues with the support of engineering staff. This position will also assist in the advancement new product development and successful product launches through hands on experiments, testing and validation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Hands on approach to prototyping, testing, and basic fabrication related to engineering projects, test equipment and processes.
· Support new product design efforts through contributions in product fitment, fabrication, testing, and formal feedback.
· Support new product design efforts through the performance of experiments, testing, testing analysis and validation. Execute tests to evaluate product quality, durability and acceptability to various industry standards and internal test standards.
· Ability to contribute to updating and providing assistance with standardized work instructions.
· Understanding of electrical schematics and measurement devices.

COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
· Ability to manage workload within several projects, including prioritization, time management and coordination with various departments in order to meet project goals and deadlines.
· Basic computer skills using systems such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
· Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
· Demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.
EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE):
High School degree or equivalent; Minimum 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
This job operates primarily on the plant floor and shop locations with occasional time in a professional office environment. This job will also entail the use of hand and power tools as well as test and measuring equipment. Experience with machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and cnc operating and programming are a plus.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time hourly position.
