Mission

In the role of Engineering Technician for our High Power Test Lab you will conduct testing for outside customers and support our Engineering and Marketing teams.

Main Accountabilities

Conduct high fault current, surge testing, time current and cycling testing in accordance with test standard specifications
Maintain all of the Labs' Power and associated Test Equipment
Assure the Lab procedures comply with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 functions to maintain certification
Cross train lab personnel and associates on all procedures associated with the Labs
Maintain a high degree of working knowledge of listing services standards
Evaluate Test Data and Test Performances to support Design Engineers' theories
Recommend upgrades and justify reasons for Safety, Power and Data Acquisition upgrades
Assist on Team Projects as required
Keep the lab and equipment clean
Must be willing to work overtime
Required Skills

Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Working experience with PC operating platforms (Windows, Excel, and Word)
General knowledge of Transformer Theory, Solid State Components and Electromagnetic Fields
Ability to understand and troubleshoot Control Systems to the Component Level
Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems
Must be capable of communicating with internal engineers and customers

The expected wage for this position is between $25 and $32 per hour and will be eligible for incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience. Mersen will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.
