The Engineering Technician will be working out of our Bellingham, WA office.
Duties:
In this role, you’ll be helping establish and support our Bellingham team while gaining exposure to a wide range of technical assignments. Your responsibilities will include materials testing and inspection in the field. You’ll also have opportunities to collaborate directly with our project managers and engineers, and, depending on workload, step into the field to gain experience in special inspections — a chance to broaden your career path even further.
We’re looking for individuals who bring experience in field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials. Certifications in soil and concrete testing are a plus, and if you’re motivated to pursue additional certifications, we’ll help you get there.

Education/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, at a minimum. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, is a plus
- minimum one year of experience in geotechnical or construction materials laboratory testing
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Certerra’s driving policy
- Ability to lift materials and equipment up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods of time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
Certifications/Licenses:
certifications include any of the following:
- ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I
- ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level I or II
- NICET Soils Level II
- ICC Soils
- Other certifications in: Field Testing, Soils / Aggregate Testing, Asphalt Concrete Testing, and Masonry Testing
