Job Description:

The Engineering Technician will be responsible for daily tasks related to process engineering, research, and development (R&D), mechanical engineering, product development, and utilizing analytical skills. The engineer will work closely with the team to drive continuous improvement and optimization of the manufacturing processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in research, design, and development of new products to meet ASME specifications.
  • Ensure the development of the product is processed through the necessary manufacturing and approval steps to make the product ready for the required testing.
  • Executes drawings and document control function of the company (Sales Drawings, Customer Drawings, BOM’s, SOP’s, ECO’s, interfaces with the ERP system, submittal of drawings), working with Design/Technology team in Spain
  • Collect data and translate data into a spreadsheet for analytical study.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, supply chain, operations, customer service, and sales to ensure product and process is robust.
  • Follows Technical Support/Production Manager’s instructions, housekeeping policies, and standard operating procedures, written, oral, or diagram form that aid in the manufacturing of filament wound pressure vessels.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support Sales/Customer Service by designing and improving the products and components that are requested by customers
  • Actively participates in resolving customer technical/quality issues by providing analysis and logical explanations based on facts and data.
  • Support in equipment, process, and product improvement projects.
  • Assist in the writing and implementation of standard work instructions for each existing work cell and keep documents current.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited school.
  • A Minimum of 2+ yrs. of work experience in manufacturing industry, may substitute equivalent experience in education
  • Minimum 2+ yrs. experience in designing products/components
  • Knowledge of membrane filtration systems is a plus
  • Must be able to build BOM of the products based on designed drawings
  • Proficient CAD Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Experience in process engineering, research and development (R&D), and mechanical engineering
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, technical information.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and industry regulations
  • Good communication with the ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment both internally and externally.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Email, One Drive, Teams, SharePoint, Business Central.
