Technical Writer

The Technical Writer plays a critical role in creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports a multidisciplinary engineering team. This position involves translating complex technical concepts from mechanical, electrical, control systems, and software engineering into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences. The Technical Writer is responsible for managing the entire documentation lifecycle, collaborating closely with subject matter experts across various domains, and ensuring all materials comply with industry and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including engineering specifications, process documentation, user manuals, and compliance materials for mechanical, electrical, control systems, and software products.
  • Collaborate with engineers and programmers to gather technical information and validate accuracy across multiple disciplines.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible content for diverse audiences, including internal teams and external clients.
  • Develop diagrams, schematics, and process flows to complement written documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Manage and maintain company documentation to ensure all revisions are accurately updated and the correct versions are properly distributed and controlled.
  • Continuously improve documentation processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex documentation projects independently.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, electrical schematics, and control system diagrams.
  • Familiarity with programming concepts and software documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ISO standards, compliance documentation, and quality management systems .
  • Knowledge of engineering software tools and programming environments .
  • Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.

Compensation:
