Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a motivated Engineering Support Specialist in Durham, NC to support our client’s engineering team. This position provides essential administrative and technical support for engineering projects, including work order preparation, data entry, and customer coordination. Occasional site visits (5–10%) may be required; mileage will be reimbursed. Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and route reports, schedules, and project documentation
• Enter projects into work management systems using designer notes
• Apply standard designs for routine maintenance and corrective work
• Prepare work orders and translate sketches into construction prints
• Complete non-field work orders (e.g., temporary services)
• Verify dependencies and update project status
• Communicate with customers and confirm schedules
• Coordinate with designers, schedulers, and construction teams
• Generate reports and assist with outage notifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED
• Experience in engineering support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with CAD or basic design tools
• Experience with work management or project tracking software
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Basic understanding of utility or construction processes ()
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
