Engineering Support Associate I – Temporary Assignment

Target Start: Immediate
Assignment Length: Through mid-to-late May
Target Pay: $20–$23 per hour
Eligibility: U.S. or / EAD only

Join a Growing Electrical Manufacturer in Central Iowa

Our partner, a rapidly expanding electrical manufacturer, is seeking an Engineering Support Associate I to support Project Managers, Engineering, and Production teams with documentation, drafting updates, labeling, and shop deliverables.

This is a temporary assignment through mid-to-late May, and the team is looking to hire ASAP. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in both an office and light production environment, this is a great opportunity to step into a hands-on engineering support role.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform quality control checks on wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and other engineer-produced documents

· Produce deliverables for the production shop including adhesive labels, wire markers, nameplates, and cable tags using industrial label printers

· Print, review, and organize drawings and blueprints for use in the production shop

· Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD) to create and update basic 2D technical drawings and plans

· Run and maintain laser engraving machines to produce placards and nameplates

· Perform document control tasks including stamping, folding drawings, archiving data, and managing revisions

· Maintain records by scanning drawings and organizing files and folders within the company network

· Perform various office-related tasks including printing, scanning, and organizing paperwork

· Support Production and Engineering teams throughout the lifecycle of active projects

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education

· Proficient with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office applications

· Beginner-level knowledge of AutoCAD for basic 2D drafting tasks

· Strong attention to detail and focus on quality

· Ability to follow work instructions and learn new processes

· Ability to learn new skills quickly and work effectively in a team setting

· Comfortable performing administrative and production support tasks

Schedule & Compensation

· Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

· Target pay: $20–$23 per hour based on experience

· Overtime opportunities available

· In-person role within a manufacturing environment

· Temporary assignment through mid-to-late May

Work Environment & Role Breakdown

· Primarily documentation, drafting support, and production preparation work

· Frequent collaboration with Engineering, Project Managers, and Production teams

· Detail-driven, process-oriented environment requiring accuracy and organization

· Combination of office-based computer work and light shop interaction

Physical Requirements

· Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for regular computer operation

· Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and general movement

· Ability to lift or move items up to 30 lbs. occasionally

· Possible exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards
