Job Title: Engineering Shift ManagerSalary: £53,000 - £56,000 + contributory pensionLocation: LeedsOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Engineering Shift Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business on a permanent basis.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage engineering teams of 10-15 engineers across 2 manufacturing sitesWork closely with the Head of Engineering and senior leadership team to minimise plant downtimeEnsure all preventative maintenance activities are completed effectively to avoid production disruptionCarry out and support both electrical and mechanical reactive and proactive maintenanceInvestigate machinery breakdowns and equipment failures to establish root causesAction repairs efficiently and accurately record all maintenance activities to identify recurring faultsSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant productivity and efficiencyEnsure engineering stores, spare parts, materials, and equipment are available when requiredCollaborate with production and operations teams to support manufacturing performanceMaintain high standards of health, safety, food safety, and engineering complianceDrive engineering best practice across both manufacturing sitesSkills & Experience RequiredProven leadership experience within an engineering or maintenance management roleStrong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge within manufacturing or FMCGExperience managing engineering teams within fast-paced production environmentsExcellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skillsAbility to prioritise workloads and manage engineering activity across multiple sitesStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate engineering teamsExperience delivering preventative maintenance strategies and reducing downtimeKnowledge of food manufacturing standards including HACCP, COSHH, and GMPProactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellenceEssential QualificationsEngineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualificationBTEC / ONC / HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringRelevant engineering leadership or supervisory experienceRole DetailsA Highly Competitive salaryGrowing FMCG company25 days holiday + Bank HolidaysGood Pension schemeCareer progression opportunitiesHow to ApplyPlease submit your CV along with your availability.For more information, please contact:Charlie Boulton01453 852544Omega is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
