Engineering Project Manager – Water/Wastewater

Location: Onsite | Charlotte, NC
Salary: $90,000 – $103,000 (Direct Hire)

Join an industry leader recognized nationwide for designing and manufacturing innovative water and wastewater treatment systems. We’re seeking an Engineering Project Manager – Water/Wastewater to oversee full-cycle project execution, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project scope, budget, timelines, and deliverables

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with clearly defined payment milestones

• Prepare submittal packages and collaborate with customers and engineering firms to obtain necessary approvals

• Provide leadership across internal and external teams, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and archive records appropriately

• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and efficiency

• Coordinate with vendors to support system design and execution

• Conduct site visits for training, measurements, and installation support as needed

• Partner with field service teams to resolve on-site issues

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

• Minimum 5 years of combined experience in project management and engineering

• Proven ability to negotiate and manage project deliverables successfully

• Proficient in reviewing technical drawings and 3D SolidWorks models

• Strong mechanical equipment design background with exceptional attention to detail

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience with project management software tools

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Experience:

• Familiarity with fabrication processes: bending, punching, welding, etc.

• Prior experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry

• Knowledge of material handling systems (e.g., conveyors, bulk storage)

• Understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls

• Design experience with rotating equipment (shafts, gearboxes, bearings)

• Ability to perform machine design calculations

• Experience with Epicor ERP system
