We’re working with a leading food manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Engineering & Operations Administrator to join their operations team. This is a varied, site-based role supporting both engineering and operations across three sites, with Bedford as your main base.

You’ll coordinate contractors, manage documentation, track stock and maintenance work, and support the wider team in keeping systems and compliance in top shape. A great role for someone with strong admin experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.

The Role…

  • Order and manage site consumables, spares, and stationery across all sites
  • Organise and file compliance, engineering, and production paperwork for audits
  • Coordinate contractor RAMS, service visits, and site access
  • Support inductions, stock control, and day-to-day admin across operations
  • Maintain and administer the CMMS system and maintenance requests
  • Travel between Hitchin, Biggleswade, and Bedford as needed

What We’re Looking For…

  • Strong administrative experience – ideally within engineering, technical services, or manufacturing
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional communicator – able to build relationships with staff, engineers, and external contractors
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential due to multi-site travel)
  • Familiarity with CMMS or food industry experience is a plus

Why Apply?

  • Join a respected and growing food business in a key support role
  • Be involved in a wide range of operational and technical projects
  • Friendly, collaborative team and well-structured working hours
  • Develop your skills in compliance, training support, and systems
