Engineering Manager in Tulsa
Job Description
The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering team in our Catoosa, OK facility. The Engineering Manager will be a player-coach position: providing individual contribution as a project manager and leading the engineering team, external contractors, and EPCs to reach the Engineering Department’s goals. These goals include designing and building new processes and equipment, implementing processes and systems that drive equipment reliability, meeting project timelines and budgets, and ensuring that proper engineering and safety procedures are followed.

• Master the manufacturing processes and technologies that exist in the Catoosa, OK.
\n
• Work in conjunction with the commercial team to ideate new processes, or improvements on existing processes, that will result in new product offerings aligned with market needs.
\n
• Develop novel manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment conferring with equipment vendors.
\n
• Work in conjunction with the operations team to propose and develop continuous process improvements.
\n
• Develop improved manufacturing processes by conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with equipment vendor, soliciting observations from operators.
\n
• Master the CAPEX and Stage-gate process to formalize new process developments into capital projects.
\n
• Lead capital projects—both new opportunities and continuous improvement— full cycle, insuring they are completed on-time and within budget.
\n
• Mentor and direct junior engineers to optimize their performance, balancing project completion and individual growth.
\n
• Manage procurement, contractors and EPCs to support completion of capital projects on time and in budget.
\n
• Effectively leverage maintenance and electrical/instrumentation team members to support project needs.
\n
• Ensures safety and environmental compliance by supporting process hazard analysis, incident investigations, procedure development, management of change, while providing technical assistance.
\n
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels and in all departments.
\n
• Offers critical technical support to plant personnel with quality issues or process upsets
\n
• Offers critical support to HSSE and Quality initiatives and goals.
\n
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
\n
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Skills Requirement
\n
\n
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering ).
\n
8 years of direct experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment with medium industrial settings. (e.g. plastics manufacturing, specialty chemical manufacturing).
\n
Strong experience selecting/purchasing, operating and maintaining fixed and rotating equipment. Such as, tanks, pressure vessels, rotary dryers, boilers, pumps, blowers, compressors, screw conveyors, belt conveyors and piping/valving.
\n
Intermediate experience with equipment, electrical requirements and controls platforms such as Allen Bradley, Ignition, Automation Direct, and Wonderware.
\n
5+ years project management experience with demonstrated success in completion of project from start to finish: Concept / Feasibility, Process Design/FEED, FID / Funding Approval, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning.
\n
3+ years of management/leadership experience.
\n
Knowledge of the field's standards and specifications such as ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/ASTM
\n
Expert personal computer proficiency, MS Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; CAD.
\n
Strong capability to communicate ideas orally and in writing. Strong ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
\n
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
