Job Description
An excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader from an electronics background to take ownership of a multidisciplinary technical team within a growing, well-established manufacturer supplying into safety-critical markets.\n\nDo you have a background in electronic product development and team leadership? Are you looking for a role where you can shape technical strategy while still staying close to the engineering?\n\nEstablished for several decades, this market-leading business designs and manufactures specialist electronic and electromechanical products used in regulated environments worldwide. With a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and compliance, the company has continued to grow and invest in new product development.
They are now looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead their in-house technical function.\n\nIn this role, you will take responsibility for all engineering activities across electronics, mechanical design, and system integration. You will lead a small multidisciplinary team, oversee new product development from concept through to manufacture, and ensure all products meet relevant international compliance standards. You will also act as the technical interface with suppliers and customers, including overseas manufacturing partners, while driving continuous improvement across engineering processes.\n\nThis role would therefore suit an experienced Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer ready to step into a leadership role, who is looking for long-term progression within a stable and technically focused business.\n\nThe Role:\n\n* Leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team\n * Owning new product design and development activities\n * Managing transition from design to manufacture\n * Overseeing compliance, testing, and certification\n * Acting as technical liaison with suppliers and customers (including overseas)\n * £75,000 - £85,000 + 33 Days Holiday + Medical + Flexible Working\n\nThe Person:\n\n* Proven experience in electronic product design and development\n * Background in engineering management or senior technical leadership\n * Strong understanding of product compliance and certification\n * Experience working with multidisciplinary teams\n * Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills\n * Commutable to Portsmouth\n\nRise Technical Recruitment Ltd acts an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.\n\nThe salary advertised is the bracket available for this position.
