Your new company \nOur client is a leading Engineering Consultancy working across Nuclear, Defence and Mission critical sectors.\n\nYour new role \n\nWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager / Project Engineer to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary facility design projects. This role is critical in ensuring engineering requirements are met and that design solutions are safe, licensable, and aligned with project objectives.You will act as the lead engineering representative, responsible for quality, safety, value for money, and schedule adherence across the project lifecycle-from concept through to handover.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead engineering delivery for assigned projects, acting as the primary point of contact for all engineering matters\nEnsure engineering requirements are appropriate and advise senior stakeholders accordingly\nDeliver integrated facility designs with supporting safety documentation\nMaintain design intent and configuration throughout the project lifecycle\nOversee internal and external engineering resources, ensuring competency and compliance\nSupport hazard studies (e.g. HAZOP), SIL, and LOPA assessments\nProvide technical specifications, briefs, and manage design packages\nEnsure compliance with CDM 2015 and nuclear site licence conditions (LC19, LC20, LC22)What you'll need to succeed \n\nHNC/HND or degree in engineering (or equivalent experience)\nProven experience delivering cross-discipline design in a regulated environment\nStrong understanding of configuration control and change management\nExperience managing both in-house and external design teams\nFamiliarity with engineered plant and systems in areas such as: \nProcess/production equipment\nBuilding services\nUtilities and distribution systems\nExperience across the full project lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, commissioning\nKnowledge of CDM regulations and ability to act as Principal Designer\nExperience working under nuclear site licence conditions\nEligibility for UK security clearanceWhat you'll get in return \n\nLong-term contract with a high-profile project\nFlexible 9-day working pattern\nOpportunity to work in a secure, highly regulated environment\nCompetitive market rate\nCollaborative, multi-disciplinary team environmentWhat you need to do now \nIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.\nIf this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.\n\nHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
