Job Description
Abatec is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the South West region.\n\nThis is a pivotal leadership role for a senior engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced, design-and-construct (D&C) environment.\n\nYou’ll be responsible for technical governance, innovation, and delivery assurance across all phases of the project lifecycle – from feasibility and design through to commissioning and handover.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to shape major infrastructure works within a collaborative, forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.\n\nAs Engineering Manager you will:\n\n * Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.\n\n * Provide technical governance and approve engineering outputs and specifications.\n\n * Oversee project delivery from concept to commissioning and client handover.\n\n * Manage technical risks and ensure alignment with commercial objectives (NEC3/4, IChemE)\n\n * Act as a senior technical liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, and supply chain partners.\n\n * Champion safety, sustainability, and whole-life asset considerations in all engineering decisions.\n\nOur client requires an Engineering Manager with:\n\n * Degree Qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering\n\n * Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IMechE, IET or CIWEM\n\n * Demonstrate experience managing engineering and commissioning teams within D&C frameworks\n\n * Strong knowledge of NEC form of contracts\n\n * Demonstrate experience within water/wastewater infrastructure delivery projects\n\nSalary and benefits include:\n\n * £75,000 - £85,000 per annum\n\n * Car allowance\n\n * 26 days holiday\n\n * Defined pension scheme matched up to 8%\n\n * Professional Membership fees\n\nIf you would like more information, or to apply for this vacancy, please contact Lloyd Barham on (phone number removed).
