Engineering Manager | Aerospace Manufacturing | Opportunity to Step up | Southampton | Up to £62,000\n\nMERITUS is excited to be working with a leading Aerospace Manufacturing business based in Southampton, they're looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to join their team. \n\nThis opportunity is ideal for a Manufacturing Engineer or Mechanical Engineer looking to step up into an Engineering Management role, taking ownership of manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence.\n\nYou will play a key role at the interface of engineering, quality, and production, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with AS9100 standards, while leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site.\n\nMain Responsibilities:\n\nLead manufacturing engineering activities and support production operations\nDevelop and maintain manufacturing route cards, work instructions, and process documentation\nTranslate engineering designs into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes\nSupport NPI, industrialisation, and process validation activities\nDrive improvements in OEE and support TPM initiatives\nEnsure compliance with AS9100, supporting audits, FAIR, and RRCA activities \n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\nExperience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or similar within aerospace or regulated manufacturing\nProven ability or readiness to step into an Engineering Manager / leadership role\nStrong knowledge of AS9100 and manufacturing process control\nExperience with route cards, process validation, and structured problem-solving (RRCA / 8D)\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and GD&T\nProject management experience and strong stakeholder communication skills \n\nBenefits:\n\nSalary up to £62,000 (DOE)\n25 days holiday + bank holidays\nPension scheme\nCareer progression into senior leadership \n\nGot your attention?\n\nIf you believe that you have the skills and experience for the Engineering Manager role - then please get in touch.
