Grand Design RV is currently looking for an Engineering Manager - Motorized. As a Grand Design team member in this role, you will guide and train all Product and Electrical Engineers and their activities that include product designs, sub-systems integrations, and product performances. Drive close interaction with Product Management, Plant Operations, and Supply base.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure the development of the floor plans under the guidance of a Product Manager which include print packs, manufacturing ability with Operations, and understanding competitive landscape.
  • Accountable for overall Product releases including PCN (Product Change Notice) development and agencies requirements for Codes Submittal.
  • Define roles and responsibilities of the Engineer, including capacity planning and prioritization for each platform.
  • Drives engagement and team building for cross functional collaboration including skill assessments and organizational structural designs.
  • Drives new product development including new designs, priorities, timing, as well as working with Advanced Product Development.
  • Have a strong focus on electrical motorized projects to help prioritize, delegate, and execute critical deliverables.
  • Launch and maintain a PDM system (software) to help keep the files manageable.
  • Close interactions and engagements with Towable Engineering Manager to ensure consistent design mythologies and processes are maintained.
  • Accountable for approving vacation time and expense reports.

Education & Experience

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Technology with 5 years of related work experience .
  • Leadership/Management experience required, minimum of 5+ years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (8D, A3, 5Ys, etc.) .
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • RV Industry or commercial vehicle knowledge or background .
  • Proficient using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools

Physical Demands

  • Will be out in the Production floor 60-70% of the time.
  • May need to lift, push, pull between 30-60 lbs.?
  • On occasion, this role may be utilized to substitute in times of team member(s) absences.
  • Some travel may be required, 5-10% of the time.
  • Able to work early and flexible hours.
