Job DescriptionI'm partnering with an established manufacturing business who are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team in Macclesfield.This is a days based position (8:00 - 16:00), where you will lead the engineering function, ensuring maximum plant uptime, operational efficiency, while developing a high-performing engineering team.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a robust preventative maintenance strategy to reduce downtime and improve asset performanceLead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled engineering team, driving engagement and performanceEnsure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and ISO standardsManage engineering budgets, contractors, and procurement to deliver cost-effective solutionsOversee and improve CMMS systems to enhance maintenance planning and reliabilityWork closely with operations to achieve production targets and continuous improvement objectivesAnalyse equipment performance data, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actionsPlan and execute planned shutdowns and engineering projectsLead capital expenditure projects from concept through to completionChampion a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with site procedures and permit systemsKey Skills & ExperienceEssentialStrong electrical engineering background with expertise in control systems and PLCsProven experience in an engineering management role within a manufacturing environment (typically 3-5+ years)Demonstrated people management and leadership capability, with a hands-on approachExperience managing engineering budgets (OPEX & CAPEX)Strong experience with CMMS systemsAbility to analyse data and drive root cause improvementsTrack record of delivering continuous improvement and operational changeExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholdersDesirableBackground in process manufacturing (e.g. coatings, print, or similar)Knowledge of TPM / Autonomous Maintenance environmentsExperience in machinery safety standards (e.g. SIL levels)Lean manufacturing experience (e.g. 5S, RCA, PDCA, 5 Why methodology)Technical CompetenciesAdvanced understanding of electrical engineering principles and machine control systemsExperience with PLC programming and industrial automation systemsStrong IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and CMMS platformsAbility to prepare and present engineering performance data and reportsExperience leading multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsHND or Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH desirable)Additional technical training in control systems / automation (advantageous)Leadership or management training (desirable)Personal AttributesStrong leadership and team development mindsetHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressureCollaborative and proactive in working cross-functionallyDriven by continuous improvement and operational excellenceEffective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levelsSalary & Benefits Package£60,000 - £66,000 per annumUpto 10% Annual Bonus5/10 Pension ContributionUpto 3% Profit Share SchemeFlexible Working HoursIf you're an experienced Engineering Manager looking to make the next step in your career, apply by using the link today.
