An opportunity to the engineering agenda at a fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing site, driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.\n\nClient Details\n\nMichael Page is partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business to recruit an Engineering Manager for its Gateshead facility. The organisation employs over 5,000 colleagues across multiple manufacturing sites and supplies products to global markets.\n\nDescription\n\nReporting directly to the Operations Director, the Engineering Manager will be a key member of the site leadership team, with full responsibility for the engineering function. You will ensure site assets are maintained to minimise downtime, maximise efficiency, and support safe, high‑quality production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead, manage, and develop the site engineering team across maintenance, site services, projects, and engineering in a 24/6 manufacturing operation\nDrive a proactive maintenance strategy to improve asset reliability and overall equipment effectiveness\nIdentify and deliver opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across all site assets\nLead reliability initiatives, including root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective actions to achieve key engineering and maintenance KPIs\nBuild team capability through targeted training, development plans, and closing skills gaps\nWork collaboratively with Operations, Quality, and other site functions to deliver site objectives\nEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality standards at all times \n\nProfile\n\nThe successful Engineering Manager will possess a range of the following:\n\nProven experience within a food manufacturing environment\nExtensive people management experience in a senior Engineering leadership role\nStrong technical knowledge of engineering principles and best‑practice maintenance methodologies\nSound understanding of Continuous Improvement and reliability‑focused maintenance approaches\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nHighly organised, analytical, and confident in problem‑solving \n\nJob Offer\n\nSalary circa £65,000\n10% performance‑related bonus\nA key leadership role within a well‑established, European‑wide manufacturing organisation \n\nIf you are an experienced Engineering Manager looking to make an impact in the FMCG sector, we encourage you to apply and become part of this innovative organisation
