JET Technologies, a multi-faceted corporation focused on plastic CNC fabrication and Thermoforming / Vacuum Forming, located in Elkhart, IN has an immediate need to fill an open position for an Engineering Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing the engineering team as well as oversight of all engineering activities including design, development, CNC programming, and tooling. The chosen individual will also be required to oversee projects from start to finish, facilitate communication between departments and engineering, and occasionally interface with customers.

Requirements

·       Previous experience in Product Design Engineering required. Experience with Thermoforming, CNC routing, and complex assemblies is , but not required.

·       Previous experience in managing an engineering team is required.

·       Ability to concept model parts in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) based on a complete understanding of how end-product is required to be made. Experience with SolidWorks PDM, and CNC programming (Mastercam) is a plus.

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).

Essential Functions

·       Hire, lead and manage team of engineers (including: product development, CNC programmers, and tool/mold designers) as well as related support staff.

·       Perform employee evaluations, provide coaching and guidance to staff, and facilitate communication between other departments and engineering.

·       Work directly within the team to determine employee strengths and weaknesses and distribute work accordingly ensuring that all tasks align with company goals and timelines.

·       Manage the development of new products and identify improvements to existing products.

·       Ensure accuracy of all engineering related documentation including RFQ’s, tooling quotes/schedules, BOM’s and ECN’s.

·       Work directly with Sales, Costing, Production and Quality departments to ensure that new products are designed accurately, completed on time, are cost competitive, and meet or exceed customer expectations.

·       Conduct and/or participate in product design meetings and design review meetings.

·       Provide timely solutions to problems and offer technical assistance when needed.

·       Work with customers as needed to gain insight on product design/performance, offer design guidance, and take corrective actions when necessary.

·       Personally oversee the design of new products from “napkin sketch” to production.
