Job Description

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Engineering Manager role in Central London. This will be working on mechanical and electrical projects within a rail environment. \n\nThe Engineering Manager will oversee the complete design and engineering lifecycle within a designated sector-Rail and Civil projects in London.

The role demands a strategic leader with a strong technical foundation, capable of integrating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that all engineering outputs meet safety, quality, and performance standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTechnical & Design Leadership:\n Lead the design function across all project phases-from concept to commissioning-while ensuring deliverables meet cost, time, and quality metrics.\n\nCompliance & Assurance:\n Maintain alignment with design management systems, ensuring design assurance, constructability, and HSE best practices are embedded throughout the engineering process.\n\nStakeholder Coordination:\n Interface with internal teams, clients, and third parties to ensure design intent, regulatory compliance, and system integration are achieved seamlessly.\n\nProject Integration:\n Provide accurate design estimates, manage design changes, and control sector-specific engineering resources to ensure smooth project execution.\n\nDocumentation & Governance:\n Maintain engineering documentation such as RFIs, TQs, MARs, design risk registers, and perform CAT 1/2 design checks.\n\nMentorship & Team Culture:\n Support the development of junior engineers and promote a collaborative, solution-driven engineering environment.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\nEssential:\n\nMultidisciplinary engineering leadership across the project lifecycle.\n\nDeep knowledge of MEPHFC systems and design assurance.\n\nSkilled in planning, budgeting, reporting, and stakeholder management.\n\nTools: 2D/3D CAD, BIM Level 2, CDM 2015, MS Office suite.\n\nUnderstanding of procurement, installation, and commissioning.\n\nQualifications:\n\nEssential:\n\nAccredited Engineering Degree & Chartered Engineer (CEng).\n\nMembership with professional institutions (e.g., IET, IMechE, CIBSE).\n\nHSE qualifications: SMSTS/IOSH, CSCS (AQP/PQP), Full UK Driving Licence.\n\nCareer Background:\n\nYou should ideally have progressed through roles such as Design Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Project/Commissioning Manager, with demonstrable experience delivering turnkey projects, engaging directly with clients, and managing design-to-handover workflows
