The Engineering Manager leads the engineering team in the design, development, and improvement of aircraft ground support equipment to meet customer and company requirements. This role provides technical leadership, project oversight, and resource management while fostering collaboration across departments. The Engineering Manager ensures engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Provide technical leadership and oversight to the engineering department, evaluating work quality and supporting staff development.
• Serve as lead engineer and subject matter expert in product design, development, and manufacturing.
• Review, approve, and maintain product designs, drawings, and design database.
• Lead weekly department meetings to review schedules, priorities, and improvement initiatives.
• Reverse engineer products and validate designs using SolidWorks Simulation.
• Develop and implement engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
• Act as technical liaison with internal departments, customers, and stakeholders.
• Mentor and train engineers, designers, interns, and technical staff.
• Support hands-on prototype builds and first-piece samples as required.
• Provide accurate project estimates, schedules, and resource plans to management.
• Ensure proper allocation of resources to meet customer and organizational requirements.
• Support ERP/MRP troubleshooting and generate CAM programs using CAMWorks.
• Oversee project execution by breaking down deliverables, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Requirements:

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, product design, and manufacturing processes; proficient in SolidWorks and CAMWorks.
• Leadership & Team Development: Ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers, designers, and interns while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
• Project Management: Skilled in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation: Demonstrates creativity and analytical skills in resolving complex engineering challenges and driving continuous improvement.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and aligning engineering outcomes with customer and company objectives.
• Adaptability: Flexible and resourceful, able to balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership responsibilities.
