A leading provider of power supplies, converters, and onboard systems for rail vehicles is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow its U.S. Engineering team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a systems-oriented engineer with a strong background in rail or transit technologies, product integration, and global coordination. You will act as a key technical liaison between U.S. operations and international engineering centers, driving successful project execution and product support.
Job Description
Team Leadership & Management

Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary U.S. engineering team (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, and Manufacturing).

Set goals, allocate resources, and align the team with strategic priorities.

Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Conduct performance reviews, one-on-ones, and career development planning.
Cross-Functional & Global Coordination

Serve as the technical bridge between U.S. operations and global engineering teams across multiple countries.

Coordinate technical inputs for proposals, design reviews, and validation efforts.

Collaborate with Project Management, Field Service, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical challenges.

Lead responses to escalations, warranty concerns, and design feedback from U.S. customers.
Technical Execution & Product Support

Define technical direction and U.S.-specific product requirements while coordinating design execution through global teams.

Oversee vehicle integration, interface definitions, and system compatibility.

Support field testing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts for products in operation.

Manage engineering change requests (ECRs), documentation updates, and sustainment efforts including obsolescence and part substitutions.

Ensure local documentation and configuration control adhere to global standards.
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (Master’s and Systems Engineering ).

Formal training or experience with software, embedded systems, or controls engineering is a strong plus.
Experience
-
5+ years in engineering, including 2–3 years in a technical leadership or management role.

Experience in the transit or rail (Rolling Stock) sector is required.

Background in electronics and/or telecommunications systems is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of product lifecycle, system integration, validation, and sustainment practices.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional and cross-border teams.
