Position Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and support of low and medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems up to 38kV. You will guide a talented engineering team and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions that meet rigorous industry standards. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends technical expertise with people leadership, directly contributing to product excellence and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· Lead engineering team to design and development efforts for low and medium voltage switchgear and components using DFx.
· Ensure designs comply with UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE C37.20.2, IEEE 37.20.3, IEEE 37.20.7, IEC 62271-200, NEC, NEMA, UL and other applicable standards.
· Plan and execute custom engineered projects and new product develop projects and deliver the projects on time.
· Identify and eliminate quality issues while continuously improving engineering deliverables.
· Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across departments and locations.
· Conduct DFMEA, oversee prototype testing and validation, and manage high-voltage and high-power testing.
· Support manufacturing and assembly processes and support PFMEA development.
· Provide design guidance on electrical one-line diagrams, proposals, specifications and drawings
- Execute tasks related to the design and engineering of automated switchgear, control systems for electrical power systems in strict compliance with company engineering processes, quality procedures and design standards.
- Oversee the preparation of technical quotes and submittals to include layout drawings, sequence of operations, Bill of Materials, wiring schematics, test procedures to meet customer approvals.
- Generate detailed design and drawing documents and parts list for manufacturing.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends and travel to job sites as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited engineering school in mechanical or electrical engineering with concentration in power engineering or experience in the power industry.
· Minimum +5 years’ experience as an engineer in Low and Medium Voltage Switchgear design.
· Experience with live electrical power systems required and hands on product design.
· Prior management or leadership experience for this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Understand UL, EC, IEEE, IEC and NEMA Standards and application to power distribution equipment .
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and knowledge of electrical components.
· Self-motivated and problem-solving skills a must.
· Familiar with CAD Software tools and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare specifications and review contractual documents.
