Base LocationIn the main, our roles are remote / working from home, with occasional travel to an Access office, supplier / partner or customer site. Some roles are site-based and if this applies to this role, this will be discussed with you during the hiring process. This role will be based in our APAC region and will work on projects residing in Malaysia (particularly Kula Lumpur). The role will need to liaise with UKIE colleagues and partners also. Working HoursCore hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm local time (excluding lunch break). Occasionally, we will ask staff to stagger their working pattern (small adjustments, . 8.00am to 4.30pm), to provide coverage for colleagues or to accommodate interaction with international colleagues. We are a global organisation and operate a follow-the-sun service model and therefore we do not require our staff to work out of hours as part of normal practice. Role-specific:You will be joining CloudERP which is a sub-division within The Access Group's ERP Division. We empower businesses with cloud-based software solutions that streamline operations across a range of industries. Our focus is on unifying our existing products (Unleashed, Mintsoft, Prospect Soft) to deliver a seamless user experience. We are dedicated to continuously enhancing the CloudERP family with solutions that meet our customers' evolving needs. We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Regional Engineering Manager to shape the strategic direction of our expanding CloudERP teams within Kuala Lumpur. This role will focus on building strong partnerships with the Engineering Managers of Unleashed, Mintsoft, and Prospect Soft based in the UK and New Zealand. You will champion a collaborative regional development approach, driving talent growth, and providing support for excellent engineering practices across our geographically distributed workforce. Key Responsibilities: • Cross-Team Collaboration: Establish strong, productive relationships with the Engineering Managers across our CloudERP products. Facilitate the sharing of best practices, coordinate technical dependencies, and champion engineering excellence throughout the region.• Team Development in KL: Focus on attracting, onboarding, and developing a high-performing engineering talent pool in Kuala Lumpur. Provide guidance, mentorship, and clear career paths for KL-based engineering staff within their respective product teams.• Operational Excellence: Ensure that the KL-based engineering team has the necessary resources, support, and alignment with Engineering Managers to ensure the smooth operation of CloudERP products. Drive proactive monitoring, reliability, and responsiveness.• Process Improvement: Partner with Engineering Managers to identify and implement strategies for automation, quality assurance, and cost optimization within their teams.• Cultural Sensitivity: Help guide the Engineering Managers in creating inclusive work environments for their globally diverse teams. Advocate for the KL team's perspective for optimal collaboration across regions.• Relationship Building: Foster a strong sense of trust and interdependency between the KL team and other engineering teams through clear communication and shared learning opportunities. Day-to-day activities may include:• Facilitating regular communication channels and knowledge sharing between Engineering Managers across the region.• Collaborating with Engineering Managers and HR to build effective recruitment and retention strategies in KL.• Monitoring engineering metrics and KPIs (DORA for the region, identifying areas for improvement and working strategically with Engineering Managers to drive positive change.• Implementing strategies to ensure consistency in engineering standards and practices in alignment with other Engineering Managers.• Working with stakeholders to understand regional priorities and initiatives, providing a voice for the KL team with other Engineering Managers.• Promoting a security-focused mindset across the region. About you:• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, ideally within the SaaS domain.• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple locations.• Experience with Angular or React in building dynamic Single Page Applications (SPA).• Strong understanding of popular software testing patterns and experience with TDD and BDD.• Have a good understanding of various software API patterns and techniques.• Experience leading teams in .Net development• Having experience with GraphQL APIs is a bonus• Have sound knowledge of database design and build, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server.• Experience working with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) is a plus.• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
