Purpose of the Role:

  • The Engineering Graduate Programme is specifically designed to develop talent within engineering, to add new thinking and skills to the team, and to develop McLaren Racing’s future leaders.
  • The role will enable you to find your path within the team and define how you can start your career in Formula 1. This jump start that will provide a solid Engineering foundation, regardless of which aspect of Engineering becomes your speciality.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • In your first 2 years, you will have the opportunity to rotate through the following areas, as well as many more: Design, Aerodynamics, Vehicle Performance, Control Systems, Race Engineering, Strategy & Sporting & Reliability.
  • As part of these rotations, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects that will directly influence the performance of the car on track, and our processes in developing the car through the season.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • To apply for this role, you must expected to graduate with an Engineering or related degree with a 2:1 or above (or an appropriate equivalent).
  • Note that whilst this is primarily an Engineering Graduate Scheme, other STEM degrees may be appropriate and will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience in motorsport is not a pre-requisite for application, but experience in STEM projects or job roles will be advantageous.
  • As this is a Graduate position, there is no expectation of skills prior to joining us, but proficiency in data analysis (via different methodologies), CAD software or programming languages are all positives.
  • You will have need to have graduated from an Engineering related degree in readiness to begin your scheme in summer 2024.

Key Information:

  • The closing date for this role will be Wednesday 25th October, we cannot accept any applications after this time.
  • If you meet our minimum criteria, you will be required to undertake an Engineering Quiz, you will be notified via email with the details.
  • If shortlisted to the final stage, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre on 5th December at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.]]>
