Client satisfaction is central to our success.\n\nThe Job Role\n\nWe are currently recruiting Engineering Geologists and Geo-environmental Engineers to join our well-established and knowledgeable consultancy teams in Exeter.\n\nWe welcome applications from candidates with proven experience in supervising ground investigations.\n\nThis role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a broad mix of public- and private-sector clients on key and major projects. It provides valuable early-career consultancy experience, combining both site-based supervision of geotechnical investigations and office-based analytical and reporting responsibilities.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nThe role will involve carrying out the following tasks effectively and efficiently:\n\nCompleting pre-commencement Desk Study research and associated reporting.\n\nPreparing for and supervising Ground Investigations, including soil and rock logging to current standards.\n\nLiaising professionally with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies.\n\nPreparing samples and scheduling laboratory testing.\n\nProducing site logs/data and drafting Factual Reports, with increasing interpretive responsibility, including:\n\nGeotechnical: Foundation design (shallow & deep), earthworks, ground improvement/stabilisation, retaining structures, slope stability, highways and drainage design.\n\nGeo-environmental: Phased contaminated land risk assessments (generic & detailed), hydrogeological risk assessments, gas risk assessments and waste management.\n\nComplying with company policies on health, safety, welfare, quality and environmental procedures.\n\nUpholding the principles of the company's equality policy and maintaining an anti-discriminatory approach.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nThe responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may be revised to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.

The post holder is expected to follow all company policies and undertake additional duties as required by their manager.\n\nEssential Qualifications, Licences & Attributes\n\nBSc/BEng in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree and/or PhD is advantageous.\n\n1-3+ years of relevant experience.\n\nCommitment to ongoing CPD and working towards Chartership (CGeol, CEng, CSci).\n\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.\n\nStrong organisational and forward-planning skills.\n\nAn appreciation for delivering high standards of customer service.\n\nEffective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships, with a focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations
